Resolution

Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Notification Server > Resource and Data Class Settings > Data Classes

  • Create a new data class by right-clicking any folder and selecting New > Editable Data Class (you can create a new folder by right-clicking Data Classes if needed first)
  • Click the blue plus symbol to add new Attributes to the data class - in this example, we added four - Tech Owner 1, Tech Owner 2, App Owner 1, and App Owner 2.
    • In the pop-up window, enter the name of the Attribute (such as Tech Owner 1).
    • Select the Type drop-down and select Resource Foreign Key
    • Select the next drop-down and select User
    • If desired, select the Display order value (in this example, 1-4)
    • Click Ok
  • Click Save changes
  • On the left, click another data class or folder, and then reselect the new data class
  • Click the blue plus on the right side for the Resource type(s) using this data class section
    • Select Computer on the left side of the pop-up window and double click or highlight and click the > button to move it to the right side of the pop-up
    • Click Ok
  • Verify that Computer is now shown in the Resource type(s) using this data class section
  • Navigate to Manage > Computers
  • Select and right-click a computer and select Edit
  • Verify that the new data class is displayed (Note it can take some time for background processes to run before you will see the new fields)
