Degraded portal performance after upgrading to 6.6

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading Information Centric Analytics (ICA) to version 6.6, all portal users experience slow page loading and navigation across all pages and sections of the console.

Cause

Additional logging enhancements were added in version 6.6 that include a procedure to lookup entity details (such as IP address or hostname) from ICA's core entity tables and add their corresponding keys to log entries.

Resolution

To restore console performance, follow this procedure:

1. In the ICA console, navigate to Admin > Settings > General > Advanced Settings
2. Check the box for the setting labelled Activity Log Failsafe Mode. Check to skip IP address and hostname normalization in spLogActivity
3. Click the Save Settings button
