Issue/Introduction

After performing ILOM firmware upgrade (from version 4.0.4 to 5.1.0) on Oracle X7-2 server farm with Layer7 v10.1.

In some cases we experienced a loss of network configuration of the ILOM after the completion of the firmware upgrade.

One more strange thing is that immediately after the upgrade and ILOM reboot, they were normally reachable.

The misconfiguration has been detected after some day.

Environment

Release : 10.1

Cause

The newer ILOM version, included a feature called 'macmonitormode'. MAC Monitor Mode, used to enable or disable MAC layer monitoring and mitigation. The ILOM SP on these systems monitors the network layer for having a good link state and for receiving and transmitting some data, which is typical in most environments where some minimal monitoring is being done.

Resolution

Try to connect by running the command "ipmitool sunoem cli" .

set state=enabled and macmonitormode=disabled, executed "reset /SP" and now.

Alternative solution  is to downgrade to 5.1.0.20 ILOM.
