Issue/Introduction

Why some developers or end users can't see some control in the Plex panel?

Environment

Release : 7.21

Cause

It is the panel design issue that does not take into consideration of all users/developers monitor resolutions.

Resolution

There is a Plex help topic 'General GUI design issues' wherein user should take care to design panels that can be fully displayed at all screen resolutions.

Plex help snippet:

Designing for Different Screen Resolutions

The measurements for the size and position of panel elements are specified in pixels. A pixel is a device-dependent unit of measurement. Different screen resolutions have different numbers of pixels horizontally and vertically. Standard screen resolutions include 640 x 480, 800 x 600, and 1024 x 768. Thus, you should take care to design panels that can be fully displayed at all screen resolutions from 640 x 480 upwards. For example, if you have a high-resolution monitor it is possible to design a dialog box that is too large to display on a 640 x 480 monitor. Switch the resolution of your screen to check its appearance at different resolutions.

In other words, the developers/users would need to change the screen resolution so the appearance can be seen. There could be a couple of times of resolution change before it can all be seen and sometimes due to the device limitation it will not display now matter how you change your resolution. Therefore, Plex developer would need to design the panel carefully and make sure users/developers can see all controls there.
