When trying to see the Cause of a failure in the View Submitted Tasks we see the message "This list of related tasks is not complete. The server is still receiving these tasks
"
The expected message should be
All Identity Manager
Identity Manager has not received/processed the inbound notifications from the Provisioning Server related to this which means that information has not been added to the IM task persistence database yet.
This could be due to either a backlog of inbound notifications yet to be sent to the Identity Manager server, misconfiguration of Inbound URL/Password, or failures in sending the inbound notifications to the Identity Manager server, or because the sending of inbound notifications is suspended/disabled (which should not be set that way).
Be sure that the Host/Port/Environment and Shared Secret values are properly configured and also make sure that Suspend Notifications is not set as shown in the screenshot below:
To have the Cause information in the View Submitted Task (VST) you must un-check the "Suspend sending notifications"
Review the etanotify log to verify notifications are being sent from the Provisioning Server to the Identity Manager server and that the notifications being sent are from the current operations or from a prior time (i.e. there is a backlog delay and needs time to catch up) and to check if there are errors that need to be resolved. Refer to following KB Article on how to read the etanotify log:
Reading the Provisioning Server's etanotify log
If you see errors determine what the errors are about.
While there is a way to clear out all the notifications from the queue as mentioned in the following KB Article be careful before doing so since doing so will lead to data loss as that means updates from the Provisioning Server will not be applied to the Identity Manager server and there is no automatic way to resync the two layers at a later time.
