Issue/Introduction

You would like to disable NTLMv1 authentication on my Ghost Solution Suite Server. Can NTLMv1 authentication be disabled and still allow PXE booted systems to map drives back to server and authenticate to Active Directory?

Environment

GSS 3.3

Resolution

Yes it would appear so. However, you should test in your own environment since each environment is different. To verify this, the following was tested:

On my GSS/PXE server, I created a new DWORD Value LmCompatibilityLevel under HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa. I set the decimal to 5. Reference:  Disabling NTLMv1

Rebooted server

Tested PXE boot.  Verified mapped M drive is present and accessible.
