How to re-import SP metadata without creating another Federation Partnership?

Issue/Introduction

Metadata for SP had been imported but some manual configuration changes took place.

Metadata need to be re-imported to revert the configuration changes but a new Federation Partnership is getting created each time.

Is there a way to just import the metadata to update existing Federation Partnership?

Environment

Release : 12.8.x

Cause

There is an option during the metadata import to choose whether to create a new partnership or update an existing one.

Resolution

When importing the metadata.xml file again, select "Update Existing" and import.

Once imported, deactivate the Federation Partnership and load the updates.

Submit the changes and activate the partnership.
