Issue/Introduction

The necessary parameters were created in the control ACF2 GSO records to be able to dynamically switch the ACF2 databases but when issuing the SWITCH command, it says that the switch key has not been setup. Why is this occurring?

Environment

Release:
Component: ACF2MS

Resolution

The ability to switch the ACF2 databases dynamically is controlled by the SWTCHKEY value within the GSO OPTS record. As an enhancement to CA-ACF2 r12 the ability to use AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) was included.
The SWTCHKEY requires that the value be encrypted when it is stored.
With the AES enhancement in place, if ICSF is active at the time that the SWTCHKEY was stored, then ICSF must be active at the time that the SWITCH command is issued. If ICSF is not active when issuing the SWITCH command the following messages will be seen.

F ACF2,SWITCH(ALT)

ACF79355 DATABASE SWITCH FAILED.

The SWTCHKEY does not need to be re-inserted into the database, ICSF just needs to be started.
If ICSF was not active when the SWTCHKEY is inserted into the GSO OPTS record, then ICSF does not need to be active when issuing the SWITCH command.
