Issue/Introduction

PDF forms created in Adobe LiveCycle fail DLP Detection

Running the pdf through filter.exe, the resulting output file shows:

If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF
viewer may not be able to display this type of document.

This error can also be seen if attempting to open the form in an application other than Adobe.

Cause

"Adobe LiveCycle Designer produces XFA forms which are XML-based forms, embedded inside a PDF and not a part of the ISO 32000 PDF Specification."

Resolution

An Enhancement Request has been submitted to Product Management to add support for XFA-based forms.
