Issue/Introduction

During normal testing post-maintenance and were testing the Rally integration.  Our new feature created successfully but the relationship to an existing capability that was also in Clarity never got established.  We had made sure to run the job twice and each time waited for the auto-trigger import staging table job to finish.  We tested the functionality in all 3 of our environments and the parenting relationships are not seeming to be happening.

Resolution

After configuring the integration and running the initial Synchronize Mapped Information Job the Rally object is imported over to Clarity and Start/Finish dates are automatically populated in Clarity (using the Clarity object defaults).
On the second run of the Sync job, user may see the last sync status field in Clarity grid show 'failed in Clarity' if the Planned Start and Planned Finish dates are missing from the feature in Rally.
Once user goes to Rally and updates the Planned Start/Planned Finish dates on the Rally object, the sync status feedback will show that portfolio items are successfully created.

Synchronize Mapped Information Job

You can configure the following parameters for the Synchronize Mapped Information Job to match your requirements:

• You can only process active Clarity Investments.
• Rally's ready state is not considered when syncing or processing Rally Portfolio Items.
• The Synchronized Map Information job includes a FULL LOAD option. If you select this check box, all the records in Clarity and Rally that are associated with the integration mapping will be synchronized regardless of when both systems were last updated. This option is useful in case both systems are completely out of synchronization and you want to synchronize all records. If you clear the FULL LOAD check box, the job will run as an ‘Incremental’ synchronization job option and process all records for data comparison that have been updated in the last 24 hours.
• You can have immediate feedback that Portfolio Items are successfully created in Rally through Last Sync Status, Last Sync Message, and Rally Formatted ID fields when either Clarity updates Rally or Rally updates Clarity.
• In the Clarity 16.1.1 and higher releases, Rally users have visibility that Portfolio Items or Objectives are originating from Clarity. That is, When Clarity’s Synchronize Mapped Information job is executed, the Rally ‘Source’ field’ is automatically populated to indicate the items are sourced from Clarity. Note that the Source field is created, in Rally, after running the Import integrations Mapping job.
