Issue/Introduction

Messaging Gateway introduced the concept of Central Control Centers and Remote Control Centers in SMG 10.7.5 as well as the Stand Alone Quarantine Server role in SMG 10.8.0. Prior to SMG 10.8.1, backups taken on one Control Center role (central / remote / quarantine) could be restored to a Control Center host with a different role resulting in unexpected behavior from the restored Control Center system.

Resolution

With the SMG 10.8.1 release, restoring a backup will be restricted based not only on product version but on the role of the Control Center so that a backup file can only be restored to a Control Center with the same role as the backup file.

Quarantine only backups maybe restored to the either the Control Center or directly to the standalone Quarantine server.
