DX OI - "Custom Situation definition" page empty, and unable to create a Custom Situation Definition"

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms

1) We are using DX OI 23.1 and "Custom Situation Definition" page is empty

2) Error "500 /oi/v2/api/clusteralarms/clustering"

3) Unable to create a "Custom Situation Definition"

4) The below error messages is reported in the doi situation log that indicates a database connection issue

ERROR  unable to save clustering policy com.ca.oi.alarmcausality.exception.ApplicationException: Error in savePolicy: JDBC begin transaction failed

 

Environment

DX OI 21.3.1, 22.1, 23.1

Cause

This problem is related to a defect. To be fixed in DX OI 23.3

 

Resolution

Workaround:

Restart the doi-situations-0 pod:

   kubectl delete pod <doi-situations-0-PODNAME> --grace-period=0 --namespace <NAMESPACE>
