When working with Spool to debug problems with IBM PSF printers how can I create an FSI Trace?

 

Environment

Spool 14.0

Resolution

To collect an FSI trace follow these steps:

1. Specify TRACE=ON on the PRINTDEV statement of the IBM PSF PROC for the target printer.
2. Start GTF and specify options TRACE=USR,JOBNAMEP,JOBNAME=psfproc
3. Recreate the problem.
4. End the GTF trace.
5. Terse the resulting file and send it in binary format to CA Technologies Customer Support.

If we need to analyze the FSI trace in our labs the following control card will be used:

GTF USR(F54,F55,F56,F59,F5A,F5B,F5C,F5D,F57,F58).
