Issue/Introduction

IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB)  configuration instructions are written for RACF and specify the security settings require setting up 3 groups - DBBADMNS, DBBUSERS, DBBGUEST. Are there recommendations on how to setup the equivalent security settings in ACF2?

Environment

Release : 16.0

Resolution

As far as the configuration of the 3 groups - DBBADMNS, DBBUSERS, DBBGUEST for IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB) there are two options.

  1. Create roles for DBBADMNS, DBBUSERS, DBBGUEST, assign individual logonids to the appropriate roles and the write rules for the 3 defined roles.

  2. Use ACF2 UID strings. For any RACF PERMIT for one of the three roles create the ACF2 rule entries with a masked UID string for the individual logonids associated with the group or multiple rule entries for each logonid UID string associated with the group.
