Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to CICS 5.6 (or higher) in an ACF2 environment, DFHAC2003 messages can be seen for the default CICS logonid on dynamic transaction routes from the IP owning region to the application owning region. The user information coming into the IP owning region is populated with a valid SAF logonid. This logonid does not get inherited properly in the application owning region.

What is causing this and how can this be resolved?

Environment

Release : 16.0

Resolution

FORMAT=ACF2 data was passed from the TOR/Sending region as user data embedded in the outbound TIOA. However, when looking at the Inbound TIOA for the DPL request, that data is nowhere to be found.

Specifying FORMAT=BOTH in the MRO definition on the receiving end resolves the issue. FORMAT=BOTH addresses the issue by using FORMAT=ACF2 data if it is found by the receiving region and if not found the request will be processed as FORMAT=CICS which will allow the proper inheritance to occur instead of falling to the default CICS logonid.
