Issue/Introduction

Ghost Solution Suite installed on Windows Server 2012 R2 is not supported with use of WinPE11 ADK version 10.1.22621.1

When WinPE11 ADK version 10.1.22621.1 is imported to GSS installed on Windows Server 2012 R2, you can successfully build boot disks, Automation Folders, and PXE configurations. However, they will likely be missing binaries which cause issues with imaging.

GSS 3.x Server 2012 R2 and WinPE11 ADK version 10.1.22621.1

Cause

Server 2012 R2 is reaching end of life and will no longer be supported by Microsoft after October 10th 2023. The latest WinPE 11 ADK was not intended for use with Server 2012 R2 for this reason.

Resolution

Broadcom recommends migrating your GSS installation to a later supported version of Server OS. Ghost Solution Suite 3.3 RU10 is supported for installation on Server 2012 R2. However, version 10.1.22000.1 or earlier of the ADK is required for imaging. Ghost Solution Suite does not support in-place OS upgrades with GSS installed.
