Issue/Introduction

We are using the WEB SERVICES. However is the OPSREST API a separate interface ?

Environment

OPS/MVS

Resolution

Correct, OPS Restful Web Services, OPSREST API are separate interfaces.

OPS Restful Web Services is a traditional interface that has been available for some OPS releases. It provides a REST API to execute REXX programs and get information from RDF tables.

OPSREST API is a new interface introduced in OPS 14.0. Currently, the only service provided by this interface is access to the OPSLOG. See the link below for the announcement of this new feature:

MTC-A is also a separate interface from the traditional RESTful Web Services. It allows some management functions like Rule Management, SSM Management, etc. It may also have a connection to the new OPSREST API to allow access to the OPSLOG from the MTC-A panels.
