Symantec Endpoint Protection client displays Browser Intrusion Prevention is not functioning correctly after upgrading Chrome to 113.0.x

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading Chrome to version 113.0.x Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) displays the following warning: Browser Intrusion Prevention is malfunctioning.

Environment

SEP 14.x
Chrome 113.0.x

Cause

The issue is caused by a recently discovered Chrome bug. More information is below:

Resolution

Chrome has released a hotfix build 113.0.5672.93 to address this issue. Broadcom has released a content update for the Browser Extension that is available via LiveUpdate. Browser Extension definitions 5/8/2023 Rev 003 or newer addresses this issue.
