Searching for a Formatted ID does not search fields that may contain a reference to the ID

Issue/Introduction

If I'm searching for a for a formatted ID and the ID exists, search will auto-open the artifact.  Search does not find references to that ID in the description, notes or custom fields.  How do I get search to locate all instances of that formatted ID across all fields?

Resolution

Search is working as designed - in the vast majority of cases, users want to go directly to the artifact.

 

You can however search using double quotes such as "US3800".  It will find the specific story and all references to the story in other fields such as notes, description and any custom fields.  It will present the findings without auto-opening the artifact.
