The Easytrieve Toolkit and PanAudit Plus products share macros. Are these products equivalent?

 

 

 

Environment

Easytrieve Toolkit release 2.0 and PanAudit Plus release 3.0

Resolution

Both products contain macros with the same name. However, the macro contents may be different.

Due to the same-name macros, the products should not be installed in the same CSI/ZONE.

The same-named macros can call differently named load modules that provide similar functions, depending on whether they are called by Easytrieve Toolkit or by PanAudit Plus.

Some Easytrieve Toolkit macros call EPTK-prefixed modules like EPTKDATE, and some PanAudit Plus macros call PAPL-prefixed modules like PAPLDATE.

There are also some identically named load modules. Easytrieve Toolkit macros are a subset of PanAudit Plus macros, so not all PanAudit Plus routines have corresponding Easytrieve Toolkit routines.
