Number of Attributes on MUX Flyout or properties view (Best Practices)

Issue/Introduction

We need to add a large number (100+) of custom attributes to Project flyout and Project Properties for our business to be able to update the fields. What are the recommendations? 

Note: this is valid for any Object such as Idea, Custom Investment etc.

Resolution

• Broadcom Support recommends to keep attributes on Project (object) Flyout and Properties / Details to the minimum
• We do not recommend having 100+ custom attributes added to a single flyout or single properties page as there may be an impact on performance
• We encourage focusing on what fields are needed for what purpose and select only those fields and create segregated saved views.
• Ask yourselves the questions:
  • Do you need all the fields during the entire duration of the life cycle?
  • or
  • Can you break it up and use filtering for the investments that are in a specific phase and only need some fields
• Here is an example of a best practice setup, split the fields for Risk/Baseline/Financials between different views, instead of having it all on the same Flyout:
