Steps to create a gMSA account in Dollar Universe

Issue/Introduction

How to create a Dollar Universe submission account, which is linked to a gSMA account. A gMSA account is group managed service accounts (gMSAs) which is domain account ? Dollar Universe only allows creating either a local system account or another system account which needs a password as shown below. Since gMSA account is a domain account and does not need any password, it is not possible to create a submission account for the gMSA account.

 

 

Environment

Component: Dollar Universe Application Server

Release : 6.x, 7.x

Cause

 

 

 

Resolution

-From the Univiewer Console, create a a "Local system user"

-Once the submission account user, open the Windows Services Panel

-Right-click on the service created -> Properties -> click on "Log on" tab

-In the "Log on" tab, choose the "This account" and enter the gMSA account. 

-Click on "Apply"

 

The Dollar Universe submission account is now linked to the gMSA account.
