AMAgent read_unit error - error reading configuration

Issue/Introduction

AMAgent is not executing collect modules or jobs.

In TRC_AMAGENT*.log error like this appears :

amagent   |unitconfig.cpp  |unitconfig.cpp |000304|ERROR  | read_unit error: 1411460574,N0001323
amagent   |amagent         |SVCSPECS.CPP   |000562|ERROR  | ...error reading configuration. Exiting.

read_unit error: <DomainID>,N<GroupID>

Environment

Client Automation - All Versions.

Cause

AMAgent could not find the configuration file for a group.

 

In this example :

amagent   |unitconfig.cpp  |unitconfig.cpp |000304|ERROR  | read_unit error: 1411460574,N0001323

 

The configuration file of group with ID 1323 (N0001323.cfg) of Domain 1411460574 was not found on scalability server's sector.

 

This could be checked by researching the file N0001323.cfg on the scalability server under :

 

C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\ServerDB\SECTOR\UNIT\54212DDE\00000000

54212DDE is 1411460574 in hexadecimal. Adapt this number is correct DomainID

 

There are some invalid group configuration files on the sector.

Resolution

To rebuild all group configuration files on the sector of all scalability servers, execute following SQL Query on Domain mdb :

update ca_agent set auto_server_version=auto_server_version+1 
where agent_type=0

The Engines will rebuild the .cfg files for all groups on the sectors (during execution of Scalability Server Collect jobs).
