Issue/Introduction

While upgrading from 10.7 to 10.8, the installer fails and the below message appears:

Upgrade Eligibility Check
-------------------------

The selected folder is not eligible to be upgraded, because it contains Introscope version 10.7 but has not been upgraded to 10.7 HF 84.

This installer can be used to upgrade from 10.7 HF 84 only.

The required HF84 was already applied without errors in all components (EM, WebView, Workstation, PostgreSQL and APMSqlServer)

Environment

Release : 10.8

Enterprise Manager Release: 10.7.0.358 (Build 998412)  ==> APM 10.7 HF84

WebView Release: 10.7.0.358 (Build 998412) ==> APM 10.7 HF84

Resolution

Check the contents of IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties. It must contain the string Hotfix 10.7.0-HF84

The APM 10.8 installer checks for the string "Hotfix 10.7.0-HF84" in this file. If the string does not exist for any reason, for example if the IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties was restored from a backup, the upgrade will fail even though the hotfix was applied successfully.
