When populating cost plans in different areas we see different options.
Why is that?
** Why is there a difference in the terminology between Classic and MUX for populating from team/allocations?
In Classic, the term is Populate from Team. Though it really means populate from allocations as the team uses allocations for their activity measurement.
Team is the name of the OOTB Tab in Classic for the Staff. However the pages under the team tab are identified as Staff Properties
In classic there was not the concept of Teams as we now have in MUX.
In hindsight the option in classic might have better named as Populate from Allocations but it was not.
Now in MUX we do have the concept of Teams as well as individual resources. Here, the populate is called Populate from Allocations which is better suited and keeps consistency betwen the two populate options (Populate from Allocations and Populate from Assignments
When populating from investments which do not have associated tasks such as Ideas (classic and MUX), Other Work (Classic only)
The only option you have it to populate from team/allocations (see below **) as there are no tasks or assignments available.
Projects in both MUX and Classic along with Custom Investments have tasks and assignments so here you get the option to Populate From Assignments as well.
However, in Classic and MUX if you have a project or CIT that is staffed, but has no assignments, then you will only see the populate from team/allocations options.
