Issue/Introduction

I plan to implement a new apm connector on a Windows 2019 server due to EOL of the current Windows 2012 OS. I installed basic SOI 4.2 integration service and then SO00298, SO15850 and then SOI_4.2_CU4.  The software installations appear to be good.  However, when I tried to start the event management or the integration services, I got errors saying service started and then stopped.  The event viewer shows a problem with "Service Control Manager"

Environment

Release : 4.2

Resolution

Base on the SAM-IntegrationServices_wrapper.log, it was complaining about the licensing in the SAM-IntegrationServices.conf

Review of the file show the following entries for the license

wrapper.license.upgrade_term.begin_date=2008-12-16
wrapper.license.upgrade_term.end_date=2011-12-16

Since CU4 should have updated those entries, this means that something went wrong with CU4 install.

We uninstall IntegrationServices and reinstall it.

We made sure to set the installer binary files to compatibility with Windows 8 since it's being installed on Windows 2019

We did this by right clicking on the binary, select the Compatibility tab.

Checked Run this program in compatibility mode for and selected Windows 8
