Issue/Introduction

Capacity, Cost Total and other values recalculated when the project dates are changed on a roadmap

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. Create a Project with dates 01.1.2023 – 31.12.2024
  2. Add a Staff member to the project and check the allocation
  3. Go to Roadmaps and create a roadmap that covers the whole project life time: as an example a 4 years roadmap staring in 2022
  4. Sync the project above
  5. Look at the whole capacity as it matches the project allocation
  6. Change the project dates on the roadmap, either on the grid or by dragging the project on the timeline
  7. Capacity values are maintained and a the capacity is spread across the periods
  8. Create a new Roadmap starting in 2024 and for 2 years
  9. Add the same project to the roadmap
  10. Notice that the project partially fits on the roadmap
  11. Capacity shown in the roadmap is the equivalent to half of the project. That is correct, it belongs to the 2024 allocation.
  12. Change the project dates or drag it on the timeline
  13. Capacity figures have now been recalculated

Expected Results:  The behavior should be the same in both cases when the project fits completely on the roadmap or when it only fits partially

Actual results: If the project fits fully on the roadmap the original value is spread on existing periods. If the project does not fully fit, the values are recalculated.

Resolution

When using 'Sum of Periods' the values are recalculated based on the selected period duration of the View Options, which defaults to the Roadmap duration.

Use the 'Grand Totals' instead so the values are not recalculated
