Smooth shutdown of OSF server

Issue/Introduction

Is there a command that will gracefully shutdown an OSF server once work executing on the server completes? 

We had an OSF server with an ENQ on a dataset. We issued a STOP command but it terminated the server immediately and it did not complete the REXX it was working on.

Resolution

The easiest way to manage/stop OSF servers gracefully is via the Operator Server Facility, OPSVIEW option 4.3. The panel is discussed in detail here:

Enter a T in the prefix area where the server is listed to stop the server as soon as any currently active command completes processing.
