SOI SCOM Connector support for non-admin permission user

Issue/Introduction

We have a highly secure environment where there is a SCOM. We need to extract the alerts from that SCOM to send them to SOI, but due to the securitization of the environment, we cannot have admin access to the SCOM

Is there any possibility that the connector will work without having admin permissions on SCOM?

Cause

Not supported. 

Resolution

The SCOM connector requires administrator privileges to get alarms from SCOM.

 

Requirements for the MS SCOM Connector (broadcom.com)

User Requirement

The CA Catalyst Connector for MS SCOM needs one SCOM user with the administrator-level permission.

The CA Catalyst Connector for MS SCOM uses the Operation manager SDK to access data from the SCOM server. The Operation Manager SDK requires administrator-level permission to access certain data such as Alert.

 

 

There is no workaround for using a non-admin user for pulling alarms from SCOM.
