Issue/Introduction

When trying to permit a resource, the following error message was received:

TSS0473E MAX SIZE of SECREC has been EXCEEDED

The acid on the TSS PERMIT command is not larger than the maximum acid size.

Environment

Release: TOPSEC00200-16-Top Secret-Security
Component: TSSMVS

Cause

One of the acids associated with the permit has exceeded the maximun size allowed for an a acid.

Resolution

Most often the acid in question is the Department acid that owns the resource being permitted.

Every permit uses a little bit of space in the owning acid's record.

Resources need to be moved from this department to another department to free space. The move needs to be done with UNDERCUT to transfer the already owned resources.

Command syntax:

TSS ADD(newdept) resclass(resname) UNDERCUT

Once the owning acid size is less than the maximum allowed acid size then permit to give access resources owned by that DEPT acid will work.

Additional Information

Please refer the CA Top Secret 16.0  documentation for more details about the UNDERCUT Keyword.
