Issue/Introduction

We have a robot that was deleted from OC Inventory and rediscovered after clearing niscache and/or resetting the robot device ID.

The profiles in MCS are not getting deployed even though the device is popping into the correct group where the profiles are applied.

We do not even see the attempts in the log - this device is never referenced by IP, cs_id, or name as far as we can tell, as if the MCS probe is ignoring the device.

Environment

Release : 20.4

Resolution

Check the tables CM_BLACKLIST_COMPUTER_SYSTEM and CM_BLACKLIST_DEVICE.

In some cases a robot may be blacklisted under an old dev_id or cs_id but still got rediscovered with the new ID's.

However, if the dev_name of the device is identical this can cause problems with MCS deployment.

Clearing the device entry from the blacklist table will resolve the issue in this case.
