Siteminder Agent for SharePoint Proxy Engine service fail to start after upgrade

Issue/Introduction

The Siteminder Agent for SharePoint version R12.52 Sp1 CR11 running on Windows Server 2012r2 and the operating system is upgraded to Windows server 2019. After which Siteminder Agent for SharePoint Proxy Engine service is unable to start, citing "Error 1053:

The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Environment

Release : 12.8.07

Resolution

Add the registry entries. "HKCR\AppID\{F5272D2C-B8F8-46F5-A3D6-A68F67D308E2}" registry and the missing "LocalService" and "ServiceParameters"  as shown in the below screenshot.
