Issue/Introduction

We need to update to the latest timezone definition files to compensate for recent changes in the time zones.  How can we accomplish that?

Environment

All supported releases

Resolution

  1. Go to https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/tools/#TZUpdater  and download tzupdater*.zip

  2. Copy/Extract the zip to the machine in question.

  3. Change directory to where tzupdater.jar is located and run:

  4. Restart product services.

Default Java locations:

  • NetOps Portal: /opt/CA/jre/bin/java

  • Data Aggregator: /opt/IMDataAggregator/jre/bin/java

  • Data Collector: /opt/IMDataCollector/jre/bin/java

  • Spectrum: /usr/Spectrum/Java/bin/java

  • Mediation Manager: User selected, but most installs use the Portal and DC Java installs so that it will be resolved by the entries above.

  • VNA: VNA's java is entirely user determined/provided.  The same steps can be used, but you must reference the proper <product-java-dir>/bin/java for the required time zone definition files to be updated
