Issue/Introduction

TNS Listeners may be used by customers to utilize HA for their SQL Clusters

This allows them to use multiple MDB servers 

This KB will document requirements and information

Environment

Release : 17.3 and higher

CA Service Desk Manager / Oracle MDB Implementation

Resolution

The TNS Listener must be pingable from the Service Desk Manager server.

If the listener is not pingable, then the customer may experience installation issues. 

Additional Information

Use Case

Customer is installing an RU patch and their environment is utilizing a TNS listener.

If you encounter an issue during installation and you configure SDM to point to one of the MDB nodes, the installation may complete, but not all services may not start.
