database startup failed in CAPM Production

Issue/Introduction

When trying to start the Vertica database, the following message is seen

starting databse drdata

The following hosts could not be reached by SSH and will not be started

v_drdata_node0002

v_drdata_node0003

Database startup failed. Cluster partitioned

 

When running  ssh -v dradmin@<node_3>  from node_2, the output indicated 2 factor authentication, referencing duosecurity URL

Dx NetOps Performance Management any version

Cause

2 factor authentication was enabled for dradmin

 

Resolution

2 factor authentication is not supported.  Disabled 2 Factor Authentication for dradmin.  The database should now start
