Is IBM zEDC compression supported for the following Top Secret files?

• Top Secret Security File
• VSAM Companion File
• Backup Security File
• Backup Companion File
• Audit Tracking Files
• CPF Receovery File
• Recovery File
• Top Secret Parmeter File

Resolution

IBM zEDC file compression is currently not supported because of one or both of the following :

• zEDC file compression is limited to VSAM files only.
• Since there is encrypted data in the Top Secret files, decryption overhead incurred is not practical.
