Error: SmTrustAssociationInterceptor initialization failed ASA Agent

Issue/Introduction

 

When running an ASA Agent for WebSphere, the ASA Agent doesn't start correctly, and WebSphere logs report the error:

   SECJ0384E: Trust Association Init Error.
   The Trust Association interceptor implementation com.netegrity.siteminder.websphere.auth.SmTrustAssociationInterceptor initialization failed.
   The error status/exception is -1. If you receive this error message in association with a trust association

 

Environment

 

  ASA Agent 12.8SP2 for WebSphere 9.0.5.6 on Windows 2016;
   JVM 1.8.0_281;

 

Resolution

 

Delete or move completely outside from the WebSphere installation the following file:

C:\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\lib\ext\smlogger.jar.OLD

Restart WebSphere.
