Discovery of Network Devices in Spectrum using incorrect Loopback IP address

Issue/Introduction

Spectrum discovering network devices, such as Cisco switch/routers, using the Loopback0 IP address as default. The IP for the device is tagged to Loopback100 in DNS but Spectrum still picks up Loopback0. 

Environment

DX NetOps Spectrum Release : 21.2

Cause

The use_loopback setting is enabled in the SpectroSERVER control subview off of the VNM and the loopback address was set to loopback0.

This setting will use the primary network address of the looback interface specified when modeling the device. 

Resolution

Set use_loopback setting to No in the VNM model -> SpectroSERVER control subview.

This will enable the SpectroSERVER to use the primary network address of the interface specified when modelling the device.
