What Sysview for Db2 (IDB2) processes issue the - Dis Group Detail command ?

Issue/Introduction

After the implementation of DB2 V12 FL510 a drastic spike in GetPages from the Syspackage catalog table due to an excessive amount of -Dis Group / -Dis Group Detail commands being issued.  A  multitude of the -Dis Group requests are from the Sysview for Db2 (IDB2) Data Collector monitoring the DB2 Subsystem.  What IDB2 requests or processes issue -Dis Group Detail ?

Cause

The customer's exception checking for the two (active) exceptions that use -Dis Group Detail:  'High percent of CF list entries' and 'High percent of SCA in use'  was set to 5 seconds causing the -Display Group Detail frequency to be excessive.  

Resolution

Sysview for Db2 uses the output of the -Dis Group Detail command when navigating to the DSGRPDTL screen issuing it once, and then every time the end-user hits <enter> from that screen. The other IDB2 processes using the -Dis Group Detail command are the following exceptions: 

_ ACTIVE ****  High percent of CF list entries in use: &VALUEXX   and    _ ACTIVE ****  High percent of SCA in use: &VALUEXX

These exceptions will issue the command once every 5 minutes by default.  If both exceptions are active, IDB2 doesn't double the requests just once every 5 minutes.  

Additional Information

IBM has provided a fix UI83398 to reduce getpages from SYSPACKAGE.
