Issue/Introduction

How to increase the number of Datadictionary history (HIST) versions for Ideal Documents, Programs, Panels and Reports. 

Resolution

To increase the number of HIST versions being kept for Ideal documents, programs, panels and reports, modify the ENTY-HIST-VERS attribute of the specific table in Datacom Datadictionary.

Following are instructions on how to increase the number of HIST versions . The default is 3.

  1. In DDOL, go into Entity Maintenance Mode.

  2. On the Maintenance Menu, choose UPDATE.

  3. From the Update Menu, choose UPDATE ATTRIBUTES.

  4. Enter an entity type of TABLE and an occurrence name ( DOCUMENT , PROGRAM, PANEL or REPORT). The status should be PROD with the password and override
    code for Datadictionary also provided.

  5. Change the ENTY-HIST-VERS attribute and APPLY the change.

  6. Run DDCFBLD -HSD RESET.
