Work Items with a space in the name after last visible character

Issue/Introduction

When creating a work item if you have a space after the last visible character and delete just the space Rally does not recognize removing the space and does not bring up the save button.  You have to remove a visible character (basically rename the item), save it and then rename the item back without the extra space at the end.

 

Expected is if you remove the extra space, Rally will notice that and allow you to save the change.

Cause

Working as designed.

Resolution

The function that alerts us to a change is looking for a substantive change.  A space is treated as white space between words as opposed to critical text.  While we do store the spaces as entered to maintain the accuracy of the text, we don't index them or use them in basic searches nor are extra spaces visible to the user.
