We have found since upgrading some servers to RedHat Enterprise Linux 8.6 or higher we are getting the wrong results for disk I/O which is causing false alarms.
The metrics for IOSTAT are showing above 300 to 400% while previously these machines always showed single-digit values.
Release : 20.4
The following command is used by CDM to retrieve the iostat details:
iostat -d -x -k 10 2
In RedHat 8.6 and above the output of this command has changed to include additional columns which affects the parsing of the output.
A new CDM probe build will be released (tenative ETA - April 15 2023) which resolves this issue.
The current release of CDM (6.84) and prior versions are affected.
If the situation is urgent, a test build may be downloaded which resolves the issue - it is attached to this article. (cdm 6.84-T1-build7)
