Issue/Introduction

Can Jasper Reports Server 8.1 with MSSQL database be installed without the sysadmin role?

Environment

Release : 14.4.2

Resolution

The current product documentation mentions that when installing JasperReports Server 8.1 with an MSSQL external database that it is mandatory to use a database user with the dbcreator and sysadmin roles assigned:

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/symantec-security-software/identity-security/identity-manager/14-4/installing/Install-and-Configure-Symantec-IGA-JasperReports-Server-8-1.html

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/symantec-security-software/identity-security/identity-governance/14-4/installing/Install-Symantec-IGA-JasperReports-Server---8-1.html

However we have received feedback from a product implementer that they have been able to install without the sysadmin role by manually creating the database on MSSQL as mentioned in Appendix B.5 in the TIBCO JasperReports® Server Installation Guide for 8.1:
