'Invalid URL specified' message received when clicking on the UAM link in Asset Viewer

Issue/Introduction

DSM domain manager and  Asset Portfolio Management (APM) are installed; the APM engine has run. The APM Web Client is launched, an asset is selected. When the user clicks on the UAM link under the Asset Viewer section they receive the message. "Invalid URL specified".

Resolution

Specify the correct path to the Asset Viewer.

1. Select Start, Programs, Computer Associates, Asset Portfolio Management, Configurator.
   The configurator utility starts.
2. Click the Asset Portfolio Management button.
3. Change the name of the server in the Server Name (for the Asset Viewer path) field to the host name of your domain manager.
4. Restart IIS.
