Agent upgrade from AWI is failing: Reason: '1 - Operation not permitted

Issue/Introduction

The upgrade of an agent from AWI is failing. The error message below is present in the agent's log.

20230315/133634.926 - U02000274 File '/automic/Agent/unix/bin/ucxjlx6' will be updated.
20230315/133634.926 - U02000273 An error occurred at updating resource '/automic/Agent/unix/bin/ucxjlx6.' Reason: '1 - Operation not permitted'.

 

Environment

Release: 12.3.x, 21.x

Cause

The error message below is caused by the s-bit of ucxjlx6 not being set.

 

20230315/133634.926 - U02000274 File '/automic/Agent/unix/bin/ucxjlx6' will be updated.
20230315/133634.926 - U02000273 An error occurred at updating resource '/automic/Agent/unix/bin/ucxjlx6.' Reason: '1 - Operation not permitted'.

Resolution

Please do the following:

 

-Stop the agent

-Execute the command with the root user

 

chmod 4755 ucxjlx6

 

-Restart the agent

 

-Try to upgrade the agent via the AWI
