After upgrading some Unix agents to the latest robot version (9.37), it didn't start and the following error is returned:
[root@server ~]# /etc/init.d/nimbus start
Starting NimBUS:
./nimbus: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found (required by ./nimbus)
Options for installation of a CentOS 5.x robot (which is no longer supported as of UIM 8.51):
As reported, the robot worked fine on robot v9.33 with CentOSv5.5 but not when the robot was upgraded to 9.37.
Stop the robot, delete it via IM, and delete all the files from the file system.
Installing Single Robot using RPM and Answer file on Linux environment
Open a new service request for Broadcom if you want to obtain robot version 9.33.
Note that in robot v9.36 or higher, the GLIBC requirement was removed.
Please note that CentOS version 5 is End of Life (EOL) according to CentOS.
Please refer to-> CENTOS END OF LIFE
Broadcom follows the best practice of following the manufacturer's end of support for an OS. CentOS 5 is not supported past UIM v8.51 and is currently 'best effort.'
Broadcom highly recommends either upgrading the OS or retiring the server for security reasons.
