Issue/Introduction

Use Case

I would like to restrict permissions for creating a "Shared schedule".

My User accounts don't have permission to see the settings menu but can still create a Shared schedule from task execution.

Issue Reproduction

The limited user who can schedule a task, can also create a "Shared Schedule" for all other users.

Environment

ITMS 8.6.x. 8.7.x

Resolution

With our ITMS 8.7 RU1 release, the following core setting has been introduced as a Custom Permission restriction - to prevent the creation of a shared schedule:

"ServerScheduleSharedEditable4NonAdmins"

Usage:

  • by default, only Symantec Administrators will be able to create/edit shared schedules for task scheduling
  • to override this behavior to legacy, the new core setting can be set to "1": "ServerScheduleSharedEditable4NonAdmins"
