Issue/Introduction

I'm using some variables in the custom alarm message on wacher match on logmon.

On some servers  $USERDNSDOMAIN is not working (it returns USERDNSDOMAIN itself instead of FQDN as we expecte)

The variable: $USERDOMAIN is working instead. What am I missing?

Environment

Release : UIM 20.x, Logmon any version

Resolution

%USERDNSDOMAIN% returns in windows the FQDN. (hostname.domain.com)

This variable exists in Windows only for servers that are logged into a Domain. If the server is not part of a domain (WORKGROUP) this variable does not return any value.

Consequently, the use of this variable in the logmon custom message won't work for servers that do not belong to a domain, indistinctively of the Windows version.
