Issue/Introduction

Preboot configurations fail to rebuild or update on an NBS server

Warning: Preboot Cfg: Failed to update configuration ***, error: The drive cannot find the sector requested.

Environment

Release : ITMS 8.7

Cause

Problem is related to an order of selected packages in Preboot Environment Settings. Reproduced while using WinPe 11 version 22H2.

If WinPE powershell packages are selected, they need to be put in a proper order as described in

Dependencies: Install WinPE-WMI > WinPE-NetFX > WinPE-Scripting > WinPE-PowerShell before you install WinPE-DismCmdlets.

Resolution

Use order buttons to adjust you selected packages according to dependencies:

And then Apply changes.

DS will automatically configure configurations
