This article details the steps for restoring content analysis after a factory restore.

 

Resolution

How to upload the configuration in CAS?

Steps :

1. Login to the CAS management Console. 

2. Go to Utilities > Configuration

3 Click on Choose File under Upload the Entire Configuration to upload the configuration to the CAS. 

> The config file is having the .xml format. 

> In the backup file, there are limited components configurations that you have. So when you upload the config file limited component configuration you can see.

> So Some of the components like network configuration, licensing, and reporter settings, may be required to do it manually. 

> Once you complete the network configuration during the initial setup then you can upload the license to the device or if the CAS has internet connectivity then you can click at system > licensing > download licensing from Symantec or you can also upload the license file after downloading it from the support portal. 

> If your CAS is also using the proxy settings you may require to configure it manually. (settings > Proxy

> If you have integrated the LDAB with the CAS settings also you may need to configure it manually. (settings > users)

> If you want to also upload the access logs of the CAS to the reporter then you may also need to configure the same settings at the settings > reporter

Not all elements of your Content Analysis appliance configuration can be saved/restored. Administration details and network information defined in the initial deployment of your appliance must be manually assigned. The following components are included in a backup/restore config.xml file:
